Hi friends, my name is Michelle!
I was born and raised in the heart of Southern Illinois and attended Southeast Missouri State University for my undergraduate and graduate-level programs. After completing my Bachelor of Science in Health Communication with an emphasis in Mass Media: Public Relations, I pursued my Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration. In May 2020, I hope to graduate from the institution with two degrees in under just five years.
For me personally, I am a proud dog mom to two pups and a sweet kitty. I enjoy reading, crafting, and spending my weekends with family and friends. I have recently relocated to the Southern Illinois area and am on the lookout for a position that will complement my skills, has potential for growth, and will be an inviting, upbeat, and inclusive environment to work in.
In my time at Southeast, I have worked alongside both on-campus and off-campus organizations, such as:
New Student Programs
Admissions
Academic Advising
Jackson R-2 School District
NubAbility Athletics
Olive Garden
CrossRoads Church
WDQN Radio
and many more. . .
The experiences learned from these businesses and organizations have allowed me to grow my people skills and flourish as a leader. They have also piqued my interest in event planning, social media management, communications, and public relations. Through the COVID-19 Pandemic, I was the lead of the communications team at CrossRoads Church as we navigated to being completely online, which greatly enhanced my ability to be adaptable during high-stress situations.
If you are interested in chatting about potential opportunities, I would encourage you to take a look at some of my work or simply reach out and say hi!
